1. Arjun Rampal

Arjun Rampal started drinking at the age of 21 which is comparatively late considering today’s scenarios. He wanted to be an athlete earlier which is why he was strict about his diet. He was bitten by the acting bug later. Since then, he’s been addicted to alcohol. Arjun has been quite vocal about his trouble dealing with alcoholism.

2. Robin Williams

The charming professor in “Dead Poet’s Society” and a comedian through and through, Robin Williams had a problem with alcohol early in his career. He began being sober after an overnight party with his close friend resulted in his death. Robin Williams had a relapse in 2008 which also resulted in depression and alcoholism

Always having played tragic roles, Rakhee had a tough time with alcoholism for an extensive period. Her marriage had fallen apart, she had affairs with her ex-husbands. A basically disturbed life made her take to alcohol.

4. Ben Affleck

Staged to play Batman in the upcoming film, Ben had problems with alcohol in the early 2000s for which he decided to enter rehab in the year 2001. Later, he was noticed having a drink at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, a good ten years after rehab. Currently, Ben does not face any problems with alcoholism having a pretty stable family life and garnering huge success in films.

Our very own Punjabi actor has been an alcoholic for a long period of 15 years. Dharmendra has been very vocal about drinking and has discussed the way drinking nearly destroyed his career. He had to change his lifestyle to get his life back on track and he could successfully get over alcoholism after he became passionate about writing.

Having grown up in a home where alcohol was easily available, Robert Downey Jr. became addicted to alcohol at an extremely early age. By the time he was 20, he was already addicted to alcohol along with other things. Film professionals did not want to hire him due to these habits of him. Having reached the extreme low of his career, he decided to undergo treatment for his addiction. He hasn’t relapsed after that. As for his career, it has reached heights which only some people can dream of.

With a life filled with heartbreak, Guru Dutt had some arduous times. He discovered Waheeda Rehman and developed her career, eventually falling in love with her. Their love story didn’t work out though and turned out to be one of the tragic legendary love stories we hear about. He took to alcohol to ease his heart which ultimately lead him to commit suicide.

Captain Jack Sparrow can never be played by someone other than him. And just as alcoholic as the character is, Johnny Depp has confessed that he was addicted to alcohol in his past. Perhaps that is why he is able to play the character with such panache. However, his alcohol addiction was kept in check and never caused problems in real life.

In a disastrous combination of difficult relationships and descending career, Manisha Koirala found fascination in alcohol. She was heavily dependent on alcohol up until she struggled with and was finally cured of cancer. Currently, she is over that addiction and leads a healthy lifestyle.

Eminem has publicised his problems with alcohol addiction throughout his life and through his songs. He had alcohol problems for a long period of time and also faced a fatal situation in 2005 due to it. Later, he surprisingly became friends with Sir Elton John who helped him out of his alcohol problem.

Another out-of-the-closet alcoholic Bollywood celeb is the lyricist Javed Akhtar. With a phase of alcohol dependence that spanned over a quarter of a decade, Akhtar used to finish a full bottle in a day by himself. Although this might have been the key behind some beautiful compositions!

Although his binge with alcoholism has been instrumental in his cinema and creative techniques, Mahesh Bhatt has himself spoken about the disastrous consequences it has resulted in.

Lindsay Lohan has had her name totally associated with alcohol addiction and rehab. She has herself admitted to being an addict and has been actively working to get over it.
